The Art of Beading

Tatnuck Bead Co. Offers a Creative Outlet Sparkling with Vintage Glass, Crystal, and Semi-Precious Beads

December 2005 - Everyone has a little bit of the artist in him or her, but often times we get so busy with school, work, or family (or even combination of all three!) that we stifle whatever creativity we have. The weekend comes and we’re into our movie/club/restaurant rut. So maybe it’s time to try something new, something creative, something that uses that other side of your brain!

Established in October of 2002 by Diane and Chris, Tatnuck Bead Co. combines the creative and technical aspects of the art of beading with workshops, parties, and unique jewelry and gifts. All very passionate about this “creative and low cost hobby” (some of the beads cost only two cents, and many are under twenty cents!), the helpful staff is knowledgeable about all sorts of beads ranging from wood to semi precious stones to handmade to glass to hand decorated.

Tatnuck Beads Co. holds a variety of classes that encourage creativity and individuality while offering instruction on different techniques and materials. Among the more popular classes are Intro to Beading, Earrings, Earrings, Earrings, Shaggy Loop Earrings, and The Beaded Watch. The instructors guide students along the design process from concept to completion. There is staff-created jewelry on display, too, for inspiration, and the atmosphere is definitely one of creative camaraderie and support. The art of beading and the finished product are taken seriously, but enjoyment, individuality and self-expression are considered just as, if not more, valuable.

What better time than now to learn how to make beautiful jewelry for holiday gifts ~ and at the same time, you’ll be giving yourself a gift ~ the gift of art, creating something with your own hands.
