Foothills Theater starts new season with Titanic: A New Musical
September 2003 - Worcester Foothills Theatre will start it’s 29th season on September 18 with “Titanic: A New Musical”, which won five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
The 2001 Tony Award winner for Drama, Proof, will be the second show of the Foothills season. Written by David Auburn, Proof explores family tensions created by the disputed authorship of a mathematical work. Broadway’s hottest new play, which contains strong language, also probes the depths of genetic insanity. The show will run from October 30 through November 23. For the 29th season in a row, Foothills will present A Christmas Carol from November 27 through December 28. Jack Neary’s new version of the Charles Dickens classic holiday tale returns for a second year. Ira Levin’s masterpiece Deathtrap will be the showstopping beginning of Foothills’ 2004 line-up. The wild, twisting and sometimes shocking thriller will keep audiences guessing until the very last scene. Deathrap will run from January 1 through January 25.
Foothills will bring the sexy Kander and Ebb musical, Cabaret to Worcester February 25 through April 4. The production showcases the glamour of the legendary Kit Kat Club. This story of an American writer who visits Berlin at the rise of Nazism contains adult situations and language. Romeo and Juliet, Shakes-peare’s spectacular romance, comes to life on the Foothills stage April 8 through May 18. The famous star-crossed lovers’ tale full of pageantry, hope and passion will delight theater viewers of all ages.
