Volkswagon’s new…cashmere wraps?

Volkswagen of America, Inc. has teamed up with designers Sigerson Morrison, Lutz & Patmos, and Hable Construction and to create a unique and exciting (not to mention exclusive) line of lifestyle accessories designed to compliment the new Volkswagen Eos. The chic yet functional line includes cashmere blankets and wraps, silk scarves, and a set of driving shoes and gloves.

The first sophisticated Lutz & Patmos accessory for the Eos ~ the Origami Wrap ~ is a light cashmere blend and ideal for transitioning from day to evening or summer to fall. The Two In One/Sculptural Coat and Blanket for Two is a cashmere wool blend that comes in black or light grey; the driver can wear it as a coat or the backseat passengers can use it as an oh-so-luxurious blanket.

Hable Construction ~ headed (you’ll pardon the pun) by Katharine and Susan Hable ~ created their headscarves ~ three styles, to be exact ~ around the image of an Eos “goddess.” The silk scarves are perfect for a top-down (as in convertible, not semi-nude!) drive but can also can be worn around the neck (but see: Isadora Duncan) or even as a belt.

Sigerson Morrison created the Driving Slip On Driving Gloves (introduced in spring ’of this year) and a custom shoe for the Eos, both designed to fit the lifestyle of the busy but fashion-conscious Eos owner.

You can find all these Volkswagen Eos accessories online at eosboutique.com and in select specialty stores. The Volkswagen Eos is currently available across America and comes in Black Uni, Candy White, Eismeer Blue, Island Gray, Paprika Red, Silver Essence, Thunder Blue and Wheat Beige Metallic with interior seating options of leather or leatherette in Moonrock Gray, Cornsilk Beige and Titan Black. The Pirelli Calendar

We Never Tire of Beautiful Women

Referred to as “the greatest office status symbol” in 1967 by the London Daily Mail, “The Cal,” as the calendar is often referred to, has become a cultural phenomenon. The fact that it is never sold, only distributed to a very limited number of customers, celebrities and political personalities, has made it a collector’s item. The fact that it features the most beautiful women in the world in sensual poses (including “wearing” nothing but the Pirelli tire tread pattern across bare breasts) against exotic backgrounds shot by world-class photographers hasn’t hurt, either. Kate Moss, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford, Nadjia Auermann, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Eva Herzigova, Nastassja Kinski, Kristen McMenamy, Carrè Otis, Tatjana Patitz, Gisele Bundchen, Iman, Karolina Kurkova, Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Natalia Vodianova, and J-lo herself have all been featured in the calendar under the artistic vision of photogs Hans Feurer, Brian Duffy, Sarah Moon, Uwe Ommer, Herb Ritts, Annie Leibovitz, Nick Knight and Patrick Demarchelier.

Super Models and Exotic Cars

The exquisite lines, the fluid movements, the impression of perfection and confidence, the fine- tuned performance, the exotic countries of their conception…Supermodels and the most exotic vehicles in the world have quite a bit in common (please note that I resisted temptation and did NOT make any mention of, well, headlights and nice rides…Mom, does that mean I’m growing up? Does it?), right down to how much they are coveted by (aka drooled over) many but seen in the company of only an elite few. In honor of our annual Fashion Issue, we thought we’d give you a rundown of what we consider the most stunning in each category ~ the pinnacles of beauty and elegance (and fancy names)…
